About Handrail Fillets
These are small pieces of wood that are inserted into the underside of a grooved handrail between the spindles that conceal the top of the spindles, while giving the appearance that there are no grooves on the handrail.
They are used for decorative purposes but also serve as protection for the ends of the handrails, which can be especially important when used outside due to being exposed to the elements.
These handrail fillets are easy to install and requite minimal maintenance. They are usually attached to the end of the handrail using screws, bolts, or adhesive, and can be easily removed and replaced if needed.
