About Ringshank Nails
Ringshank nails are a unique type of nail used in various carpentry projects. It has the traditional shape of a common nail but with the addition of two or more ridges around the shank. While their ridges provide extra gripping power that’s particularly helpful in woodworking applications, more often than not ringshank nails are employed for decorative purposes since the ridges give a finished project an attractive and rustic look. When using a hammer to drive them in, care must be taken to ensure the ringed part is completely flush against the material as it holds much better if flat than it does otherwise. Despite its distinctiveness and eye-catching appearance, they can be surprisingly affordable compared to other specialized nails.
